Purpose and Organisation
I. Name
1 The name of the institution is “Forschungsstelle Lyrikologie. Rudolf Brandmeyer-Archiv / Lyricology Research Center. Rudolf Brandmeyer Archive“ (hereafter: LRC).
II. Purpose
1 The purpose of the LRC is to promote, stimulate and encourage the comparative interdisciplinary study of lyric theory, lyricology, poetry, and verse in their various forms, media, and functions.
2 The LRC conducts activities solely for scholarly purposes. It is a nonprofit scientific institution.
3 In furtherance of the aforementioned purposes, the LRC shall, among other things:
- maintain and develop the LRC portal „lyriktheorie“ (at the moment: https://www.lyriktheorie.uni-wuppertal.de/ ) enabling individuals and research groups to find and exchange information and to coordinate their activities;
- maintain and develop the LRC library and the Rudolf Brandmeyer Archive enabling individuals and research groups to find and exchange information and to coordinate their activities
- create and maintain an information infrastructure including the LRC website as well as associated web portals, e-mail lists and digital repositories enabling individuals and research groups to exchange information and to coordinate their activities;
- facilitate the exchange of ideas and concepts among different disciplines and languages;
- liaise with other associations, networks, research centres and groups and assist them in the coordination of their activities in the field of research on lyric.
III. Structure and Seat
1 The LRC is lead by the Executive Board consisting at the moment of Prof. Dr. Claudia Hillebrandt (Bielefeld), Dr. Rudolf Brandmeyer (Paris/Essen/Duisburg) and Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Zymner (Wuppertal). The composition of the Executive Board can change depending on possibilities and interests of its members. The actual members of the Executive Bord can leave the Executive Board, new members can be invited to participate by the activ members of the Executive Board.
2 The Executive Board is supported by an interdisciplinary Advisory Board consisting of lyricological interested scientists from several philologies and disciplines. The members of the Advisory Board are invited to participate on the LRC by the Executive Board.
4 The seat of the LRC, the LRC library and the LCR portal is the University of at least one of the members of the Executive Board, at the moment the Bergische Universität Wuppertal
